Confidentiality

HERO can assist with sensitive topics, so privacy is key. All HERO support is protected by HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and never shared with HII. If you or a family member contact HERO, no one will know unless you give permission in writing. Also, employees with security clearances can use HERO confidentially without having to report to the Defense Security Service (DSS) as long as their situation doesn't impact their ability to protect classified information.
